American Life & Security Unveils Nasdaq-100 Intraday Elite 15%™ Index for Fixed Indexed Annuities
American Life & Security Corp., a Nebraska-based annuity provider, has collaborated with Nasdaq Global Indexes to introduce the Nasdaq-100 Intraday Elite 15%™ Index as a crediting option for their American Select Fixed Indexed Annuity (FIA). This new index provides exposure to the Nasdaq-100, representing 100 large-cap innovative companies listed on Nasdaq.
Key features include a 15% volatility target with systematic risk management, and up to three intraday rebalancing opportunities to achieve more consistent crediting and participation rates. The intraday rebalancing allows for enhanced responsiveness to market fluctuations, potentially offering annuity policyholders more stable returns compared to indexes with less dynamic mechanisms. This product enhancement applies to both new and existing policyholders, reflecting American Life’s strategy to differentiate its product offerings in a competitive annuity marketplace.
The partnership also signifies Nasdaq’s push to expand its index licensing into the insurance sector, particularly targeting retirement solutions where volatility control is increasingly valued. American Life remains focused on innovation in retirement products and client-centric solutions, while Nasdaq leverages its index expertise to diversify services beyond traditional financial markets.
The index licensing agreement clarifies that Nasdaq does not guarantee index performance or results related to the FIA product, with all guarantees based on American Life's claims-paying ability. This launch exemplifies ongoing efforts within the annuity industry to incorporate advanced risk management and crediting methodologies through strategic partnerships and technology integration.
