CMS Reports Nearly 5.8 Million Enrolled for 2026 Health Plans During Marketplace Open Enrollment
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reported that nearly 950,000 new consumers without prior Health Insurance Marketplace coverage have enrolled in 2026 health plans. Additionally, over 4.8 million returning consumers have selected plans for 2026 during the open enrollment period that started on November 1 and runs through January 15. Coverage start dates depend on the enrollment date: January 1 for enrollments by December 15, and February 1 for those enrolling later.
