Florida Home Insurance Premiums Stabilize with Minimal September Increase

Florida homeowners saw a near halt in home insurance premium increases between August and September 2024, with average costs rising by only $1 or 0.03%, marking the smallest increase since monthly Residential Market Share Reports began this year. Although overall premiums slightly increased by 1.5% since January 2024, regional discrepancies persist, as South Florida continues to endure higher premiums due to greater housing density and hurricane risk. The central and northern regions of the state typically experience lower or average premiums than South Florida.
