Global Indemnity's Penn-America Launches New Reinsurance MGA
Global Indemnity Group (GBLI), through its subsidiary Penn-America Underwriters (PAU), has launched a new reinsurance managing general agency (MGA), marking PAU's first de novo expansion within its MGA platform. The new MGA will be led by George Dragonetti, a seasoned reinsurance executive with over three decades of experience across the US and Bermuda markets, bolstering PAU's underwriting, growth, and distribution capabilities in both insurance and reinsurance sectors. Dragonetti's background includes leadership stints at Emerald Bay Risk Solutions, Nav Re, and RLI Re, positioning him to drive strategic growth and underwriting excellence in this new venture. GBLI's reorganization initiative, Project Manifest, earlier this year enhanced operational efficiency by creating distinct business units and specialized technology and claims service companies within the Penn-America framework, supporting PAU's diversified agency network and product lines. PAU also integrates technology and service providers such as Sayata for small commercial insurance marketplaces, Liberty Insurance Adjustment Agency for claims, and Kaleidoscope Insurance Technologies, reinforcing its competitive posture through innovation and comprehensive service delivery. The launch underscores GBLI's ongoing strategy to expand its specialty insurance and reinsurance footprint through targeted leadership, platform development, and specialization, aligning with market demands for tailored reinsurance solutions and efficient underwriting processes.
