NY Medical Supply Firms Accused of Medicare and Insurance Billing Fraud

Two New York-based medical supply companies, Gazar Recovery Inc. and Almaz Med Supply Inc., have been accused of fraudulent billing practices involving Medicare and other insurance programs. Both companies, established within the last two years, face numerous complaints alleging they charged insurance providers for medical supplies consumers never ordered or received.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) reported over 100 scam tracker reports and formal complaints against these firms, highlighting potential widespread insurance fraud affecting multiple consumers. Despite repeated attempts, neither company has responded to inquiries from the BBB, which raised concerns about accountability and transparency in their operations.

The firms are officially registered as active businesses in New York, with addresses in Monsey and Queens respectively, but their business practices are under scrutiny due to customer disputes and unreturned communications. Experts warn that such schemes can disproportionately affect insurance payers and beneficiaries by inflating claims and costs, undermining trust in medical supply chains. The BBB advises consumers to closely monitor their insurance statements to detect unauthorized charges and encourages vigilance against similar deceptive tactics in the healthcare supply sector.
