Phishing Scam Targets Consumers with False Unclaimed Life Insurance Claims

A scam involving a fraudulent letter claiming unclaimed life insurance policies is circulating in the Triad area. The letter, falsely presented as from an attorney, promises recipients a share of millions in unclaimed life insurance money if they provide personal and financial information.

The Better Business Bureau of Central and Northwest North Carolina warns that the letter is a phishing attempt to steal identities and money, emphasizing the importance of skepticism towards unsolicited lucrative offers and advising against sharing personal details with unknown parties.
