Chubb Names Tim Boroughs Vice Chairman and Chris Hogan Chief Investment Officer

Chubb Limited has announced key leadership changes within its investment management team, naming Tim Boroughs as Vice Chairman, Chubb Group and Executive Chairman, Asset Management. Boroughs, who has over 25 years of experience at Chubb and its predecessor ACE, has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s investment strategies and leading its global investment operations. His extensive background includes roles at Tudor Investment Corporation and Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, as well as academic contributions as a business school lecturer. His stewardship is recognized as critical to Chubb's financial strength and asset management success.

In tandem with Boroughs’ appointment, Chris Hogan has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Chief Investment Officer, now reporting directly to Boroughs. Hogan, having joined Chubb in 2023 from Goldman Sachs, brings over two decades of fixed income portfolio management expertise, including leadership of the Global Securitized Investment Team and hedge fund management at GSAM. This promotion underscores Chubb’s commitment to strengthening leadership continuity and leveraging deep investment expertise within its ranks.

These leadership developments come at a time when investment management remains a vital component of insurance company performance, particularly for a global insurer like Chubb with operations across 54 countries. Effective asset management supports underwriting capabilities and financial resilience, impacting the insurer's ability to meet policyholder obligations and expand prudent risk-taking.

Chubb’s strategic focus on building strong investment management leadership demonstrates its prioritization of asset growth and risk-adjusted returns amidst a complex global market environment. By elevating seasoned executives like Boroughs and Hogan, Chubb aligns its organizational structure with industry best practices that emphasize experienced stewardship of investment portfolios.

The company, listed on the NYSE and part of the S&P 500 index, employs approximately 43,000 people worldwide and offers a diverse range of insurance products. These internal developments signal robust governance practices in investment management, contributing to Chubb’s sustained position as a leading global insurer.
