HCSC's Commitment to ACA Marketplace: Plans for 2027
Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) has affirmed its commitment to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace, announcing the offer of individual and family health plans for 2027 across its key markets.
As a customer-owned Mutual Legal Reserve Company, HCSC's participation underscores its strategic focus on providing accessible health coverage. This announcement highlights its presence in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, where it has engaged with the ACA Marketplace since its introduction. Mark Tomaszewski, Vice President of Individual and Family Markets at HCSC, reiterated the company's mission by noting, "We continue to evolve our product offerings to meet the needs of consumers across the five states we serve while remaining committed to the long-term success and sustainability of the Marketplace."
Strengthening Marketplace Engagement
HCSC’s sustained involvement in the ACA Marketplace reflects its adaptive strategy to offer diverse coverage options while maintaining extensive provider networks. These networks aim to comprehensively support the healthcare requirements of policyholders. The upcoming open enrollment for 2027 plans will commence on November 1, 2026, allowing consumers to explore and choose plans via HealthCare.gov or state-specific Marketplace platforms.
HCSC's Expansive Service Offerings
With a service base of approximately 27 million individuals, HCSC stands as the largest customer-owned health insurer in the U.S. Beyond traditional insurance, it provides a suite of ancillary healthcare solutions, including pharmacy services, dental, and life insurance, through its affiliates and subsidiaries. Moreover, as an independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, HCSC is well-positioned to leverage its expansive network for enhanced service delivery.
