Rochester Insurance Village Addresses Claims After Storms

Months following severe storms and tornadoes in Rochester, Minnesota, residents are still navigating complex insurance claim processes to recover from significant property damage.

In response to these ongoing challenges, the Minnesota Commerce Department has organized the Rochester Area Insurance Village. Scheduled for Friday, September 25, this initiative provides an opportunity for residents to engage with insurance providers and state insurance professionals face-to-face. The main goal is to assist attendees in resolving outstanding claims efficiently. The event underscores the department's commitment to facilitating swift claim processes, aiding the community's recovery from the April 17 storms.

Sara Payne, Assistant Commissioner for Enforcement at the Minnesota Department of Commerce, emphasized that the event serves not only those with current claims but also the general community seeking insurance-related guidance. "Our insurance village is open to everyone in the community," she remarked. Set at the Olmsted County Emergency Management Facility, the event offers free entry and does not require appointments. Visitors can drop by anytime between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., highlighting the department’s dedication to accessible insurance support.
