California Class Certification Granted in Good Driver Rate Lawsuit

California consumers won class certification in a lawsuit against several insurance companies, including National General Holdings Corp. subsidiaries, for allegedly not complying with state law that mandates offering the lowest rates to good drivers.

The US District Court for the Northern District of California recognized over 900,000 consumers as part of the class. Personal Express Insurance Co. was dismissed from the suit due to insufficient evidence against it.
