Louisiana Mandates Insurers Disclose All Available Policy Discounts by 2025
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple has issued a directive requiring all property and casualty insurers to disclose all available premium discounts to current and prospective policyholders.
This new regulation, effective May 1, 2025, mandates that discount information be clearly presented in at least 12-point font and provided either electronically or in printed materials with new policies and renewals.
Electronic disclosures must be sent to a policyholder's approved email or made accessible via a secure website, accompanied by a notification email. The statute covers insurers offering homeowners and private passenger motor vehicle insurance within Louisiana.
