Aon and Brit Announce Strategic Leadership Changes in US Casualty and Underwriting
Aon plc appointed Anthony DiLorenzo as head of US casualty for its Reinsurance Solutions division, effective immediately. DiLorenzo will lead casualty broking teams to provide client solutions by leveraging transactional expertise alongside data and analytics. He succeeds Amanda Lyons, who transitioned to global product leader for Reinsurance Solutions to advance product strategies across multiple lines including property, casualty, agriculture, credit, and cyber.
In addition, Nick Nudo is promoted to head of US excess and umbrella, filling DiLorenzo's previous role. Steve Hofmann, US CEO of Reinsurance Solutions, highlighted DiLorenzo's 13-year tenure and leadership in managing excess liability segments with significant casualty relationships.
Casualty reinsurance is gaining prominence for insurers managing long-tail risk severity and adapting to technological and regulatory changes. Aon's organizational shifts reflect a strategic emphasis on casualty and excess liability segments to meet evolving market demands.
Separately, Brit Group Holdings Ltd. named Jonathan Mudd as active underwriter for Syndicate 2988, maintaining his existing roles in managing FinPro and Cyber. Brit Syndicate 2988 wrote £181 million in business in 2024, covering commercial specialty insurance at Lloyd's of London with a focus on property, casualty, and energy.
Brit operates under Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. and maintains multiple syndicates to support its underwriting activities. Simon Bird continues as group executive underwriter for Brit.
These leadership changes highlight adjustments within key reinsurance and underwriting organizations tailored to address emerging risk landscapes and sustain operational growth in specialty insurance sectors.
