Marsh McLennan Agency Acquires Accel Holdings to Enhance Service Offerings

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) has announced its acquisition of Accel Holdings, Inc., a prominent independent insurance and advisory firm based in Waverly, Iowa. The transaction, expected to finalize in the third quarter, remains undisclosed in terms of financial details. Accel Group, originally established in 1936 and integrated with Millhiser Smith Agency in 2018, offers a comprehensive range of services including commercial and personal insurance, employee benefits, agribusiness solutions, and wealth advisory services. With seven offices spread across Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas, over 130 employees from these locations will join MMA.

David Eslick, CEO of MMA, emphasized that Accel's strengths in local services and connections, when combined with MMA's expansive capabilities, are poised to provide enhanced value to clients. Ryan Watkins, CEO of MMA’s Upper Midwest region, highlighted the strategic alignment of Accel's reputable team with MMA’s goals, pointing out the significant enhancement of geographic reach and service offerings, including their expertise in agribusiness.

Corey Rekers, President of Property & Casualty Insurance at Accel, expressed enthusiasm about joining MMA, focusing on the potential to broaden service capabilities for clients. The merger promises to integrate Accel's established insurance solutions with MMA’s innovative resources, ensuring a comprehensive approach to risk management and client satisfaction.
