Bamboo Insurance Partners with MS Transverse to Enhance Homeowner Coverage

Bamboo Insurance has partnered with MS Transverse Insurance Company to augment its capacity for admitted homeowners and dwelling fire insurance in California. This arrangement boosts Bamboo’s offerings with an additional $150 million in capacity, designed to improve access to coverage in areas facing reduced insurer involvement.

This strategic alliance aims to enhance availability for homeowners, landlords, and insurance agents across high-risk regions, such as Los Angeles and San Francisco. John Chu, CEO of Bamboo Insurance, remarked on the collaboration's potential to address affordability and capacity challenges by expanding carrier partnerships and refining underwriting tools.

The partnership introduces more flexible coverage options, including higher deductibles up to $10,000 and mandatory water damage sublimits. Additionally, a revised claim-free discount program rewards extended claim-free periods. These enhancements support precise risk management and offer agents more opportunities to manage eligible risks, including high-value properties, within admitted markets.

These developments come amid challenges in California's residential insurance sector, such as rising reconstruction costs and exposure to natural disasters. The new capacity will be available for both new and renewal policies starting July 17, 2026, distributed through Bamboo's agent network, contingent on underwriting, eligibility, and regulatory compliance.
