Wisconsin Public Employers Group Life Insurance Transition

The Employee Trust Funds (ETF) is set to oversee the Wisconsin Public Employers Group Life Insurance program, taking over management duties from Securian via the My Benefits portal. This strategic transition will seamlessly integrate My Insurance Benefits to better serve the stakeholders involved.

To ensure smooth access to Securian's updated invoicing platform, ETF and Securian will employ existing online access security agreement forms, particularly the ET-8928 and ET-8928i. Employers providing group life or accident insurance will furnish HR Administrator details, including their name and email, to Securian. The new Local Billing Entity (LBE) online portal access will be granted according to the HR Administrator’s permissions in the ETF systems.

Securian's system will be accessible to employers beginning July 29, 2026. It's crucial for any changes to the HR Administrator's access for the Securian LBE platform to be completed by July 24, 2026, utilizing the ETF Online Access Security Agreement (ET-8928). Meanwhile, members currently enrolled in Securian’s Accident Plan with dependent coverage must reenroll their dependents during open enrollment to extend coverage beyond December 31, 2026, and avoid individual plan reversion from January 1, 2027.

Securian will soon provide instructions and login credentials for their LBE website. For any assistance regarding this transition, stakeholders are advised to reach out to their ETF case manager via ETFSMBEmployerInsurance@etf.wi.gov.
