AssuranceAmerica Managing General Agency, LLC, located in Atlanta, manages non-standard auto insurance policies primarily for higher-risk drivers. A significant data breach impacted 611,046 residents in South Carolina. The breach, stemming from a cyberattack on March 16, 2026, led to unauthorized access to the company’s IT systems, discovered on March 17, 2026.

During the breach, several data files were extracted, containing sensitive information such as names, contact details, insurance policy information, claims-related data, and Social Security numbers. AssuranceAmerica promptly initiated an investigation to assess the extent of the data exposure.

Notifications were sent to the California and Nebraska Attorneys General starting June 17, 2026, with affected individuals receiving direct communication around the same time. AssuranceAmerica is providing one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection through IDX, with enrollment details included in notification letters.
