Envestnet and Baird: Revolutionizing Wealth Management Services

Envestnet has expanded its collaboration with Baird to enhance wealth management services by integrating investments, financial planning, reporting, and insurance solutions. This partnership is significant as Baird becomes the first broker-dealer to implement standardized annuity workflows using the Envestnet Insurance Exchange, powered by FIDx. All of Baird's annuity business, managed by approximately 1,400 financial advisors, will now operate through this centralized platform.

Baird's initiative to modernize its wealth management platform seeks to consolidate various financial capabilities into a singular, cohesive system. By leveraging the Envestnet platform, Baird can efficiently merge portfolio management, financial planning, reporting, and annuity processing. Traditionally, annuity management involved manual processes and multiple carrier systems. The Envestnet Insurance Exchange addresses these inefficiencies by offering a centralized, automated workflow that includes licensing and product validations, integrated fee-based annuities, and prefilled forms to streamline advisor workflows.

Enhanced Transparency and Workflow Efficiency

The platform further enhances transparency and business analytics through Envestnet's Research Center and integrated dashboards, improving oversight of annuity transactions for advisors and home offices. Baird credits this integration with exceeding its 2025 annuity sales goals and promoting fee-based annuities. The announcement was made at Envestnet Elevate 2026, where the company highlighted its comprehensive wealth management tools designed to support client-focused services.

FIDx, which powers the Exchange, aims to simplify insurance and annuity workflows by integrating them within existing wealth management systems. Envestnet supports over $7 trillion in platform assets and serves a diverse range of financial advisors, including banks, brokerages, RIAs, and wealth management firms. This positions Envestnet as a key player in streamlining financial advisory services.

Andrew Stavaridis, Envestnet's Chief Relationship Officer, emphasized the importance of providing flexible technology for firms like Baird to innovate and streamline their workflows. Ellen Galezewski, Director of Wealth Strategy and Solutions at Baird, underscored the firm's commitment to equipping advisors with supportive technology, especially in an economic climate where annuities play a crucial role. According to Rich Romano, CEO of FIDx, the integration simplifies the annuity process for broker-dealers and financial advisors, facilitating more efficient incorporation of annuities into wealth management.
