Barnes & Thornburg Expands Insurance Recovery Group with Acquisition
Barnes & Thornburg, a prominent national law firm, has strengthened its insurance litigation and risk management services with the acquisition of an esteemed 12-lawyer insurance recovery group. This expansion extends their reach into the New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and Atlanta markets, complementing existing operations in the Midwest and West Coast. The integration aligns with their strategy to enhance comprehensive coverage offerings to policyholder clients.
Lynda Bennett, who will co-chair the firm's Insurance Recovery Group, leads the new team, formerly with Lowenstein Sandler. This group includes partners Arthur Armstrong, Alexander Brown, Craig Dashiell, Rachel Hudgins, Eric Jesse, Jeremy King, and Heather Weaver, as well as associates Alexander Corson, Madison Diaz, Michael Kleinman, and Madilynne Lee. Their expertise in complex insurance coverage disputes spans D&O, cyber, product liability, and environmental claims.
Lynda Bennett expressed enthusiasm for the move, stating, “Our team is now strategically based across our East Coast offices, with more growth ahead.” This addition bolsters Barnes & Thornburg's national platform, enhancing their exclusive representation for policyholder clients. Randy Brown, Litigation Department Chair, commented on the team's industry expertise, “Their addition is an incredible asset for our clients.”
This acquisition follows the firm’s recent expansion in Government Services and Finance, which included a 39-lawyer Public Finance and Infrastructure group. Michael C. Zogby, managing partner of the New Jersey office, emphasized the strategic advantage gained from the new team, highlighting their leadership in the region. With 26 offices nationwide, Barnes & Thornburg’s 850 lawyers are well-positioned to support clients in high-stakes litigation and transactions.
