Beazley Acquires kWh Analytics to Enhance Renewable Energy Underwriting

Beazley has announced its acquisition of kWh Analytics, a managing general agent specializing in renewable energy. This strategic move aligns with Beazley’s goal to enhance underwriting capabilities in energy transition risks. Post-acquisition, kWh Analytics will integrate into Beazley’s Marine, Accident & Political Risks team, with CEO Jason Kaminsky reporting to Tim Turner, the group head of MAP Risks.

Jason Kaminsky will play a key role in developing the transition underwriting strategy, led by Kelly Malynn. The addition of kWh Analytics is expected to amplify Beazley’s expertise in modeling, underwriting, and managing risk in renewable energy. Adrian Cox, CEO of Beazley, emphasized the significant potential the energy transition holds for the specialty insurance market.

In another corporate development, Aon has announced the appointment of Anne Corona as CEO of North America, taking over from Lori Goltermann. Corona, a seasoned professional with over 25 years at Aon, previously held positions such as CEO of enterprise clients and global chief commercial officer. She will maintain her duties as global chief commercial officer until a successor is appointed.

AXA XL has appointed Leyla Delic as chief technology and AI officer. Reporting to CEO Scott Gunter and Group Chief Technology and AI Officer Matthieu Caillat, Delic brings over two decades of technology leadership experience. Her role will involve advancing AXA XL’s technology strategy and AI capabilities.

Chubb has named Seshadri (Sesh) Iyer as executive vice president for operations, technology, and digital transformation after Julie Dillman’s retirement. Iyer will oversee global operations and technology, reporting to Chairman and CEO Evan G. Greenberg and President and COO John Keogh.

Strategic Collaborations:

A strategic collaboration has been announced between McGill and Partners and AIG to leverage AI capabilities for optimizing insurance capacity deployment. This initiative integrates McGill and Partners' digital broking platform with Palantir’s Foundry platform, enhancing real-time data analysis and portfolio management to boost efficiency and access to insurance solutions.

The Hartford has promoted Jaclyn Fortino to head of inland marine and Todd Wilson to head of energy, reflecting efforts to expand its focus on energy and construction. Fortino will report to Marc Gantar, and Wilson will report to David DeSilva, aligning with The Hartford's strategic growth goals in energy. Plymouth Rock Assurance also appointed Elliott Seaborn as chief marketing officer of its Independent Agency Group, bringing over 30 years of experience to guide market strategy and agency relations.
