Westfield Specialty Exceeds 2025 Financial Goals with Innovative Strategies
Westfield Specialty Surpasses 2025 Financial Projections
In 2025, Westfield Specialty reported a gross written premium (GWP) of $1.93 billion, a Combined Ratio (CR) of 93.1%, and underwriting income of $87.2 million. These financial achievements exceeded the company's strategic targets, driven by its innovative underwriting strategies that emphasize a diverse portfolio for optimized profitability and effective risk management.
The premium distribution demonstrated a balanced geographic reach, with 55% from U.S. operations and 45% from international markets, particularly in London. The U.S. Specialty sector contributed $948 million to the GWP, including $105 million from the Surety business, while international operations generated $874 million.
Westfield Specialty's President, Jack Kuhn, highlighted the significance of attracting top-tier industry professionals in achieving these outcomes. The ability to secure talent has bolstered the strategic initiative of empowering underwriters to explore new risks, thereby expanding the company's portfolio within the challenging regulatory compliance landscape.
"Our investments in key regions like the UK, US, and Dubai have deepened our team capabilities,” noted Kuhn. “Launching our Luxembourg operation in 2026 marks our strategic expansion into Europe, underscoring our commitment to agile partnerships and tailored solutions for brokers and clients across diverse geographies."
