Progressive Sees 21.7% Increase in Auto Insurance Policies

Progressive Corporation has reported a significant increase in its total personal auto insurance policies in force, reaching 24,345,000 in February 2025. This marks a growth of 4,342,000 policies or 21.7% from the previous year's figure of 20,003,000 in February 2024. This newly reported total not only highlights the company's successful expansion but also sets a record for the number of personal auto policies in force at the firm.

The continued growth pattern for Progressive is evident, as the increase in policies has remained consistently above 21% since November of the previous year. The latest data shows a slight decrease in growth rate compared to January 2025, which saw a 21.8% increase year-over-year. The agency personal auto insurance policies have also seen significant growth, totaling 9,950,000, representing a 17.6% increase from the previous year.
