Sonic Fire Tech, a fire technology startup, has introduced its Sonic Home Defense system, pioneering the use of infrasound technology to proactively prevent wildfire ignitions on residential properties without relying on water, chemicals, or delays. The system is recognized as a CES 2026 Innovation Awards Honoree for advancing safe, sustainable wildfire defense suitable for smart homes. This NASA-inspired technology detects embers, the primary cause of over 90% of wildfire-related home ignitions, and neutralizes them using low-frequency inaudible sound waves, delivering protection that aligns with IBHS and California State Zone Zero Perimeter Defense guidelines. Currently being installed in California wildfire-prone areas including Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Lake Tahoe, the Sonic Home Defense system offers homes safe, silent, zero-damage protection both inside and outside the property. Its design includes concealed ducting to maintain home aesthetics and the ability to operate off-grid with backup batteries, providing real-time alerts and control through the Sonic Alert App, enhancing homeowner responsiveness.
