MOTER Technologies and Sonatus have developed an integrated AI-driven driver risk analytics system embedded directly into vehicles, bypassing traditional telematics methods like smartphone apps and dongles.
This system evaluates real-time driving behavior using a combination of conventional metrics and contextual factors, enhancing data quality and addressing privacy by operating on the car's own computing hardware. Sonatus provides a standardized deployment framework enabling these models to work across multiple vehicle manufacturers, facilitating scalable applications such as embedded insurance and fleet risk monitoring.
The partnership is enabling new insurance programs such as Clear Blue Insurance Group's proposed California private passenger auto program, which uses MOTER's data-driven models to link policy rates with defined driving risk metrics and promote green vehicles. Real-time vehicle data integration is expected to improve underwriting precision, risk assessment accuracy, and operational efficiency within automotive insurance.
