Arthur J. Gallagher Expands UK Pension Services via First Actuarial Acquisition

Arthur J. Gallagher, a U.S.-based global insurance brokerage and risk management firm, has expanded its pension service capabilities in the UK by acquiring First Actuarial, a UK-based pension administration and consultancy company. First Actuarial provides services including pension administration, employee benefits consultancy, and investment services to employers and pension plan trustees across the UK. The existing leadership of First Actuarial, led by David Joy, will continue operating from its current locations and will integrate operationally under the supervision of Arthur J. Gallagher’s UK Benefits and HR Consulting Division head, David Piltz. This acquisition complements Gallagher's broader strategy to enhance its employee benefits consulting operations internationally. The move follows a series of significant transactions by Gallagher, including the November 2022 acquisition of Tompkins Insurance Agencies, a property and casualty (P&C) insurance and employee benefits provider servicing Pennsylvania and New York markets. Gallagher also completed its purchase of AssuredPartners, a U.S.-based commercial P&C and specialty insurance broker, further strengthening its service offerings. These strategic acquisitions are part of Arthur J. Gallagher's ongoing expansion to broaden its portfolio of insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services across multiple industries and geographies. Headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Gallagher operates in approximately 130 countries through owned offices and a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
