Boston Mutual Life Names Grant D. Ward Sr. as New CEO

Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Grant D. Ward Sr., JD, as its next Chief Executive Officer and President, effective January 1, 2026. Ward will also assume the role of President at the company's New York subsidiary, Life Insurance Company of Boston & New York (LICOBNY). He succeeds Paul A. Quaranto Jr., who will retire from his CEO and President roles at the end of 2025 but will remain Chair of the Board of Directors. Ward brings nearly a decade of leadership experience within Boston Mutual Life, having held positions such as President and COO, General Counsel & Secretary, and Executive Vice President. His expertise spans operations, customer experience, claims, legal and compliance, and facilities management, underpinning a comprehensive understanding of the company’s strategic and operational functions. The Board of Directors approved Ward’s appointment unanimously. Prior to joining Boston Mutual Life in 2016, Ward held significant roles across major financial and insurance organizations, including MetLife Financial Services, Deloitte, FINRA, John Hancock Financial Services, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ward’s professional and academic credentials include a JD from DePaul College of Law, a bachelor’s degree from Howard University, and participation in the LIMRA Strategic Leadership Experience at The Wharton School of Business.
