Aetna Unveils 2026 Medicare Advantage Plans with Expanded Benefits
Aetna, a subsidiary of CVS Health, has announced its 2026 Medicare Advantage products designed to meet the diverse needs of Medicare beneficiaries across 43 states and Washington, D.C.
Their offerings include Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans, Special Needs Plans (SNPs), Medicare Supplement, and ancillary products.
This expands coverage access to approximately 57 million Medicare-eligible individuals. The company focuses on affordable access to quality healthcare through robust provider networks and emphasizes whole-person care with supplemental benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, and fitness programs. Aetna continues to develop its Special Needs Plans, providing additional targeted benefits that support members with specific health conditions.
The Medicare Part D plans, including SilverScript PDPs and integrated MAPD plans, aim to deliver cost-effective and accessible prescription drug coverage. New benefits for chronically ill members include enhanced supplemental benefits under special supplemental benefits for the chronically ill (SSBCI) programs, covering conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disorders. Aetna emphasizes their commitment to providing seamless care by integrating resources across care delivery partners, pharmacies, and clinical services.
The plans and benefits reflect ongoing compliance with Medicare regulations and are subject to contractual renewals and regional availability. There are specific restrictions for service utilization in Arkansas due to legislative changes starting in 2026. The 2026 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 through December 7, 2025.
The coordinated approach leverages CVS Health's extensive retail and clinical presence to enhance patient outcomes and cost management. Additional services include OTC benefits, SilverSneakers fitness memberships, and adult vaccine coverage with zero copays at in-network pharmacies. Aetna Medicare contracts are based on Medicare and Medicaid agreements, ensuring regulatory alignment and provider network stability.
This product update continues to build on CVS Health’s integrated health solution model, optimizing patient-centered care and resource accessibility across multiple states.
