CMS Launches $50B Rural Health Transformation Program with Nov. 5 Deadline

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) opened applications for the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) program, a $50 billion initiative established under H.R. 1 to enhance rural health outcomes. States have until November 5 to apply, and funding will be distributed over five years with no option for rejected or late applicants to reapply. CMS detailed five strategic goals aligned with statutory requirements and outlined spending restrictions, including prohibitions on using funds for new construction or replacing reimbursable payments.
