Aon Divests NFP Wealth Business to Refocus on Core Insurance Brokerage
Aon is selling a majority stake of NFP's wealth management business to private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners for $2.7 billion. This divestiture aligns with Aon's strategy to concentrate on its core insurance brokerage and risk advisory operations. The wealth management segment, considered non-core for Aon, was part of a broader expansion effort following Aon's $13 billion acquisition of NFP in April 2024.
