Allstate Reports Lower Catastrophe Losses for July 2025, Boosts Reinsurance Coverage

Allstate Corporation reported catastrophe losses of $184 million ($145 million after-tax) for July 2025, which originated from 19 wind and hail events. These losses are significantly lower compared to July 2024's $587 million estimate, which included Hurricane Beryl's impact. Additionally, catastrophe losses for the second quarter of 2025 reached $1.99 billion before tax, including substantial losses from April and May. In response to these catastrophe exposures, Allstate increased the top of its catastrophe reinsurance tower by approximately $1.6 billion to a total of $9.5 billion of loss excess a $1 billion retention. Further, the company secured a new aggregate reinsurance arrangement for its U.S. homeowners insurance portfolio during the mid-year renewals.
