Chubb Names Kim Hare Head of North America Property Claims
Chubb has appointed Kim Hare as senior vice president and head of North America property claims, effective August 18. In this role, she will oversee the insurer’s property claims operations across both personal and commercial lines in North America, reporting directly to Kevin Rampe, executive vice president and head of North America claims. Hare will lead executive operations with an emphasis on service delivery and enhancing the digital claims experience, aiming to advance Chubb's claims strategy.
Hare brings over 30 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, having previously served as senior vice president and head of property claims at Farmers Insurance. Her background includes leadership in various claims operations such as Auto Central Zone claims, West Zone region management, and national strategy for medical personal injury protection (PIP). She also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
She succeeds Tim Barziza, who will retire in April 2026 after more than three decades in the insurance sector and 22 years at Chubb, including seven years leading property claims. Barziza’s expertise has contributed to Chubb's catastrophe response and claims management during major loss events.
This leadership transition occurs amid evolving market conditions in the property insurance sector, characterized by rising customer demands for efficient and transparent claims processes, alongside the need for digital innovation. Chubb’s appointment of Hare aligns with the company’s strategic focus on strengthening its claims operations through experienced leadership and improved digital capabilities.
Overall, this move reinforces Chubb’s commitment to enhancing operational performance and customer service standards in property claims management in a competitive and shifting insurance landscape.
