WTW Expands Leadership in Insurance Consulting with Key Senior Director Hires

WTW has appointed Nicholas Carbo as senior director in its Insurance Consulting & Technology (ICT) business, expanding its expertise in annuity product development, pricing, and M&A activities. Carbo brings extensive experience from Corebridge Financial and Oliver Wyman, focusing on actuarial assumption governance, reinsurance analysis, and forecasting. His role will support client engagements on annuity modeling, product pricing, and assumption development, contributing to WTW's consulting capabilities.

This appointment is part of broader leadership changes in WTW's ICT division, which has recently strengthened its team with senior hires, including Gary Finkelstein in London and the return of Karen Grote as head of North America's life practice line. Additional hires such as Poojan Shah and Erika Dochney are set to bolster M&A advisory, actuarial valuations, and product pricing expertise across various U.S. locations.
WTW's strategic direction includes targeting smaller, more integrated acquisitions in the middle market to complement its strong financial results in 2024. This pivot reflects a nuanced approach to expanding consulting services, focusing on efficient integration and enhancing value in life insurance and annuity solutions.
The growing leadership team and focused acquisition strategy indicate WTW's commitment to strengthening its presence in insurance consulting and technology, particularly in the spheres of life insurance, annuities, and regulatory compliance advisory. This repositioning aligns with broader industry trends emphasizing specialized expertise and market-responsive advisory services.

WTW's enhancements in leadership and strategic focus represent significant developments for insurance professionals monitoring consulting services that impact product development, actuarial services, and M&A activities in the U.S. insurance market. The move prepares WTW to meet evolving client demands amid dynamic regulatory and market environments.
