DOJ and HHS Form Working Group to Enhance False Claims Act Enforcement in Healthcare

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have launched the DOJ-HHS False Claims Act Working Group, a strategic enforcement collaboration aimed at enhancing investigations and prosecutions of healthcare fraud under the False Claims Act (FCA). This initiative unites senior officials from various DOJ and HHS divisions to prioritize enforcement efforts and improve interagency coordination. The Working Group will leverage advanced data analytics and data sharing to detect fraudulent activities more effectively and streamline decision-making related to payment suspensions and qui tam suits dismissal.
