Leadership Changes at Major Insurance Firms Impacting Global Markets
Several insurance firms have recently announced key leadership appointments affecting global risk advisory, specialty brokerage, and pet insurance sectors. Marsh has created a new global role focused on captive solutions, Ames & Gough promoted two executives to senior positions, and Odie Pet Insurance has appointed a new chief growth officer.
Marsh introduced Aileen Krehbiel to the newly established role of global strategic client service leader for captive solutions. In this capacity, she will manage the strategic deployment of captive strategies for Marsh’s largest and most complex clients globally. Krehbiel transitions to Marsh from John Deere, where she served as manager of captive insurance programs. Her background also includes experience with Ernst & Young’s assurance services. Based in Bettendorf, Iowa, she will report to Michael Serricchio, Marsh's regional leader for captive solutions in the US and Canada.
Serricchio commented, "Aileen's rare combination of global captive insurance operations experience, technical accounting depth, and a strong corporate risk perspective will benefit clients and colleagues alike." He noted the company's pursuit of strategic and innovative solutions in response to a volatile risk landscape, providing brokers an additional resource within Marsh’s framework.
Ames & Gough, an insurance broker and risk management consultant based in Washington, DC, has elevated Brian Lynch and Jared Maxwell to senior vice president roles. Lynch, who became an equity partner in 2023, manages the firm’s national practice for associations and nonprofits from the Washington, DC office. Meanwhile, Maxwell, an equity partner since 2016, is responsible for client service and business development in Boston. Both executives have made significant contributions to the firm, with Matt Gough, CEO, recognizing their role in achieving impressive client results and supporting firm development.
Odie Pet Insurance has named Lane Kent as chief growth officer. Kent is tasked with spearheading the company's growth through strategic partnerships, embedded distribution, and other initiatives. His extensive background includes leadership at Independence Pet Group, a major North American pet insurance platform. His focus on embedded distribution is of particular interest for brokers, signaling Odie's intention to strengthen distribution through agency relationships rather than relying solely on direct sales.
According to Miles Thorson, co-founder and CEO of Odie Pet Insurance, "Lane has operated at the scaled version of the business we are building, and that perspective is incredibly valuable as Odie enters its next chapter." Kent’s appointment aligns with Odie’s strategy to enhance its business-to-business and embedded partnerships, while focusing on service, operations, and product innovation.
