Mile Auto Acquires The Insurance House, Enhancing Auto Insurance Offerings
Mile Auto, a managing general agency (MGA) based in Atlanta, recently acquired The Insurance House, effective July 1, 2026, as reported by Beinsure. The combined entity expects to generate approximately $100 million in annual premium revenue, serving over 55,000 policyholders. It will leverage a network of 1,600 independent agencies across 10 states.
The merger combines Mile Auto's expertise in patented artificial intelligence and computer vision technology for mileage-based auto insurance with The Insurance House's 62 years of experience and agency relationships in the Southeast. Both Mile Auto and Insurance House will maintain their brand identities, and Southern General Insurance Company will continue as an independent fronting carrier for Insurance House.
For agents and clients, the transition is expected to be seamless and will offer the same service experience. They will benefit from an expanded operational scale, enhanced technology investments, and a diverse product lineup. Fred Blumer, CEO of Mile Auto, highlighted the merger's role in integrating technology with The Insurance House's market experience to drive growth and stakeholder value.
Jill Jinks, CEO of Insurance House and Southern General Insurance Company, noted the acquisition represents a transformative period. The firm will merge its agency network and underwriting expertise with Mile Auto's technological innovations, reinforced by Southern General's carrier partnership. Mile Auto continues to lead in mileage-based pricing models without telematics or continuous GPS tracking, ensuring privacy.
Founded in 1964, Insurance House has collaborated with independent agencies, focusing on auto insurance programs and agency partnerships. Mile Auto will maintain its partnership with Cimarron Insurance Company, offering products in its ten-state operation while serving as the exclusive U.S. provider of Porsche Auto Insurance.
This merger bolsters the organization's underwriting capacity and operational flexibility, enabling both Mile Auto and Insurance House to retain critical relationships and expand pay-per-mile offerings. It enhances agency-focused distribution and affinity insurance initiatives, providing a larger premium base and broad distribution network.
Mile Auto expects the acquisition to facilitate further investment in product development, service enhancements, and underwriting improvements. As the group advances its auto insurance platform, it aims to support policyholders, independent agents, carrier partners, and affinity groups efficiently.
