Mile Auto Acquires Insurance House: A Strategic Partnership in Insurance
Mile Auto has announced its acquisition of the Georgia-based managing general agency, Insurance House, effective July 2026. This strategic expansion brings together a combined enterprise managing approximately $100 million in annual premiums, catering to over 55,000 policyholders through 1,600 independent agencies spread across ten states.
Founded in 1964, Insurance House has cultivated extensive experience within the Southeast insurance market. In contrast, Mile Auto, which debuted in 2017, offers a niche in mileage-based auto insurance by leveraging advanced AI and computer vision technologies, avoiding telematics or continuous GPS tracking. Notably, Mile Auto stands as the exclusive provider of Porsche Auto Insurance, retaining its cutting-edge technological distinction post-acquisition.
Post-Acquisition Plans
Post-acquisition, both Mile Auto and Insurance House will maintain their distinct brand identities. Insurance House will uphold its collaboration with Southern General Insurance Company as its independent fronting carrier, while Mile Auto continues its alliance with Cimarron Insurance Company. Fred Blumer, CEO of Mile Auto, emphasized that the merger amplifies the companies’ core strengths, combining Mile Auto's technology and distribution capabilities with Insurance House's market expertise and agency relationships. This synergy aims to deliver greater value to policyholders and carrier partners while fueling growth.
Jill Jinks, CEO of Insurance House and Southern General Insurance Company, underscored the partnership as a transformative chapter, merging heritage with innovation to enhance opportunities for employees, agents, and carrier connections. Under the new structure, Mile Auto plans to serve Porsche owners driving over 10,000 miles annually and will leverage VIU as a digital omnichannel platform. Backed by investors such as Ulu Ventures and Thornton Capital, Mile Auto continues its trajectory towards innovation-led market expansion.
