CMT Integrates DriveWell with Geotab for Enhanced Fleet Insurance
Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), an industry leader in telematics and AI mobility solutions, has integrated its DriveWell Fleet platform with the Geotab Marketplace. This strategic collaboration allows fleets equipped with Geotab devices to leverage CMT’s telematics capabilities, enhancing the adoption of insurance programs that rely on telematics data. Fleets can improve safety, reduce insurance premiums, and fully utilize their telematics assets without operational disruptions. This integration provides insurers with valuable driving data from Geotab-connected vehicles, facilitating enhanced risk assessment and enabling more accurate pricing based on driver behavior.
DriveWell Fleet optimizes telematics service provider (TSP) data to strengthen risk evaluation, segmentation, and pricing accuracy for insurers. Through Geotab’s extensive network, telematics-based pricing can be extended across more commercial portfolios, as currently, only a limited percentage of commercial auto policies incorporate telematics data for pricing. By offering a platform for Geotab-enabled fleets and providing solutions for unconnected vehicles, CMT supports the expansion of behavior-based insurance policies, benefiting both insurers and fleets.
Ben Bowne, CMT's SVP of Business Development & Partnerships, emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing risk understanding and driver safety through telematics. He stated that joining the Geotab Marketplace simplifies access for fleets and insurers to high-quality driving data, thereby broadening CMT's reach and enabling insurers to offer more competitive pricing. Robin Kinsey, Associate Vice President at Geotab’s Marketplace, highlighted Geotab’s mission to enrich fleet operations through connected vehicle data, noting that fleets benefit from elevated safety standards and data-driven insurance pricing with CMT's solutions.
In other industry developments, Aviva and AXIS are collaborating on a project at Lloyd's Consortium. Additionally, Blink Parametric has partnered with Southern Cross Travel Insurance, while UK law firm Hugh James has secured a long-term agreement with ARAG for after-the-event insurance products. Adjusted mortality rates in the UK are signaling changes in life expectancy, a trend that life and critical illness insurers will need to closely monitor to stay ahead in the regulatory landscape.
