New Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Initiative for Part D Beneficiaries

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) introduced the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge on July 1, a temporary initiative designed to provide certain GLP-1 medications to eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries. This program, active until December 31, 2027, functions outside the traditional Part D coverage and payment systems. By doing so, it ensures beneficiaries access these medications without imposing financial liabilities on Part D plan sponsors.
