C.A.R. Initiatives for Affordable Housing and REALTOR® Support

Californians for Homeownership was established to counteract local policies that restrict housing development, promoting affordable housing solutions as envisioned by state legislators. The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) supports these initiatives through its CARES framework, which includes the Housing Affordability Fund, Scholarship Foundation, Education Foundation, and Disaster Relief Fund. The organization also honors significant volunteer contributions from members with the Champions of Home Impact Awards, emphasizing their community impact.

C.A.R. offers vital support to REALTORS® affected by natural disasters like wildfires in collaboration with the NAR's REALTORS® Relief Foundation. The association provides scholarships for students aiming for real estate careers and grants for professionals seeking further education. Diversity and inclusion initiatives, along with networking resources like the Young Professionals Network (YPN), are available to foster emerging industry leaders. Additionally, C.A.R. enhances member value through various consumer advertising campaigns and innovative services.

For its members, C.A.R. delivers comprehensive resources such as the Legal Action Fund and zipForm®, aiding in legal compliance and contractual navigation. Educational courses and certifications are offered to bolster professional expertise. Notably, networking and collaboration are encouraged through events like the C.A.R. Business Meeting and the REimagine!® Real Estate Conference & Expo. The association's legislative advocacy at both state and national levels addresses critical housing issues, ensuring ongoing industry innovation and growth.
