Cigna Group Foundation Grants $3 Million for Youth Mental Health

The Cigna Group Foundation, a division of The Cigna Group, has announced $3 million in grants to support youth mental health initiatives. These funds will be allocated across 22 nonprofit organizations in 10 states to address the rising demand for mental health resources for young individuals facing limited access to care.

Ellie Polack, president of The Cigna Group Foundation, highlighted their commitment to breaking barriers that restrict youth from accessing necessary mental health services. This initiative is part of a broader $9 million, three-year project aimed at improving access to these crucial services and strengthening community support networks.

Forty percent of the grantees will enhance or continue existing programs backed by previous funding. Eluna, one of the organizations receiving support, aids youth and families experiencing grief. Their program, Camp Erin Philadelphia, focuses on children who have lost a loved one. Eluna's CEO, Mary FitzGerald, expressed appreciation for the Foundation's support, which aids in expanding initiatives such as family grief camps and training workshops for caregivers.

The Cigna Group Foundation has collaborated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to broaden mental health resources at a national level. Since 2024, 90 percent of Club staff have completed trauma-informed training, and the Behavioral Support Toolkit has been piloted among over 250 teens, enhancing the capacity for effective youth support.

The Cigna Group Foundation, supported financially by The Cigna Group and its subsidiaries, partners with nonprofit organizations to tackle significant health challenges, offer humanitarian support, and enhance employee involvement through matching donations and volunteer efforts. The Cigna Group serves over 187 million customers globally, through brands like Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth Health Services. For further details, visit The Cigna Group's official website.
