Allianz Care Launches New Health Cover for International Workforce in Australia

Allianz Care, a division of Allianz Partners, has launched a revitalized range of Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC) products, specifically tailored to Australia's international workforce. The updated portfolio introduces the "Everyday Care Workers" plan, offering comprehensive health coverage including unlimited general practitioner (GP) visits and hospital benefits, starting at AUD 93 per month for individual policyholders.

This strategic product line update is a response to research by Allianz Partners, highlighting a significant demand among recent graduates and skilled workers for affordable healthcare options. The 2025 State of Student Healthcare Report emphasized this need, indicating that 85% of respondents underestimated their living costs. With over 59% of international students planning to remain in Australia post-graduation, the new offering addresses the requirement for streamlined and cost-effective health coverage.

Miranda Fennell, Executive Head of Health at Allianz Partners Australia, commented, "Allianz Care has consistently supported international communities in Australia. These enhancements reflect our dedication to offering health insurance that is clear, adaptable, and genuinely caring, especially for international students and workers."

The overhaul of the OVHC range includes simplifying product names and revamping the online purchasing experience, enabling international visitors and workers to compare plans easily and choose coverage that best aligns with their visa requirements, lifestyle, and financial situations.

The rising necessity for such coverage is evident, as demonstrated by the issuance of 133,891 temporary graduate visas in 2025, a 7% increase from the previous year. This ongoing demand for skilled migration underscores the critical role of affordable health insurance for international students entering the Australian workforce.

International students and workers significantly boost the Australian economy. According to the Australian Government Department of Education, international education contributed nearly $55 billion to the economy in 2025. Additionally, the Business Council of Australia estimates that each group of 1,000 migrants adds approximately AUD 124 million annually to the economy.

Allianz Care’s introduction of the Everyday Care Workers product within its updated OVHC portfolio signifies its commitment to making health insurance more accessible and supportive for migrants. For more details on the new OVHC portfolio, visit allianzcare.com.au.
