Stefany Shaheen Receives Endorsement for Medicare Advocacy in NH
A political action committee dedicated to safeguarding Social Security and Medicare has officially endorsed Stefany Shaheen in the upcoming 1st Congressional District primary. The National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare PAC praised Shaheen's dedication to senior healthcare, setting her apart from her competitors.
Max Richtman, president and CEO of the organization, highlighted the New Hampshire congressional race's potential influence on healthcare policies affecting seniors. He commended Shaheen for her focus on fortifying Social Security and tackling the impacts of pharmaceutical and insurance companies.
Shaheen responded to the endorsement by underscoring recent occurrences where over 70,000 seniors lost their Medicare Advantage Plans, which led to higher out-of-pocket healthcare costs. She expressed criticism of current policies and pledged to maintain the integrity of Social Security and Medicare benefits for the coming generations.
All Democratic candidates have voiced their commitment to protecting Social Security and Medicare, with some endorsing broader reforms like Medicare for All. However, Shaheen stresses the need for prompt improvements to the existing system to boost affordability.
Shaheen's campaign is also supported by healthcare professionals and notable local figures such as Tom Sherman and Susan Lynch. Recently, she commenced a campaign tour focused on enhancing healthcare services.
Other Democratic contenders include Maura Sullivan, Christian Urrutia, Carleigh Beriont, Heath Howard, and Sarah Chadzynski. Despite Sullivan's consistent financial backing from a veteran-focused PAC and leading in fundraising, Shaheen remains distinctive for her healthcare policy emphasis.
