New Insurance Concentration Launching at Marquette Business in 2026
Marquette Business is set to launch a new insurance concentration within the Finance Department, scheduled to debut in fall 2026. This initiative aims to meet growing demands from employers while engaging student and faculty interest. The concentration will prepare students for diverse roles in the insurance industry, including sectors like property and casualty, commercial business, life and annuities, and health insurance.
Jae Junkunc, Director of the Insurance Leadership Program, highlights the insurance sector's critical role in the global economy. According to Junkunc, insurance empowers individuals and businesses to make smart risk decisions that drive economic growth. The program intends to leverage the established and expanding insurance market, positioning students for success in this vital field.
The insurance concentration is designed to integrate with existing majors in the College of Business Administration. Its flexible structure enables students to combine this focus with their core business interests. This approach enhances their skills in a market where such competencies are highly sought after.
“This concentration offers students a clear pathway into one of the economy's most stable and opportunity-rich sectors,” Junkunc notes. The curriculum aims to equip graduates with practical skills and certifications, enabling them to contribute effectively to the industry upon graduation.
Students interested in the new concentration should consult with advisors to explore credit overlap options and gain further insight into program details. For more information, Jae Junkunc remains a key point of contact.
