NFP Acquires Signature Personal Insurance to Strengthen High-Net-Worth Client Solutions

NFP, a company under Aon, has strategically acquired assets from Signature Personal Insurance (SPI), an independent agency in the Kansas City area. This acquisition aims to enhance services for high-net-worth clients who demand sophisticated risk management solutions.

Founded in 2004 by Roper DeGarmo, SPI specializes in insurance solutions for affluent individuals and families, providing coverage for luxury properties, fine art, and exclusive vehicle collections. The agency leverages partnerships with insurance carriers and a proprietary advisor model to offer tailored services.

Post-acquisition, DeGarmo will take on the role of vice-president within NFP, reporting to Mary Mullen, senior vice-president of personal risk for NFP's central region. He highlighted the collaboration with NFP, emphasizing that their combined resources will enhance value delivery to high-net-worth clients in the Midwest.

This acquisition marks a significant step for NFP in the Midwest, bolstering its capabilities in private client insurance with personalized risk management services. Brett Woodward, president of personal risk at NFP, noted that SPI's tools would strengthen NFP’s integrated risk solutions and expand its Kansas City presence.

Moreover, NFP has been actively growing its portfolio through acquisitions. In April, it acquired Sherman Insurance Agency in Minnesota, broadening its reach in trucking, commercial, and employee benefits insurance. This move extends NFP's operations in the upper Midwest and its role in transportation and logistics coverage.

In the same month, NFP acquired the Hamilton Group, enhancing its property and casualty business in the northeastern United States. Financially, Aon's net income reached $1.2 billion in the first quarter, a 26% increase from the prior year, with earnings per share rising to $5.63 and quarterly revenue increasing by 6% to $5 billion. These figures underscore strong growth and expansion capabilities.
