Connecticut's Special Enrollment Period for Health Insurance
Connecticut's health insurance exchange, Access Health CT, is currently offering a Special Enrollment Period that runs until June 30. Since its inception on February 1, this period has facilitated significant savings, amounting to $1.6 million through Temporary Premium Assistance.
Initiated in response to the expiration of federal enhanced premium tax credits on December 31, 2025, Temporary Premium Assistance remains available to qualified individuals. According to Access Health CT CEO James Michel, eligible residents are encouraged to explore their options for health insurance coverage during this time.
The Special Enrollment Period caters to specific qualifying individuals with support accessible through multiple channels. Residents can schedule appointments, locate navigator sites, or connect with certified brokers via the "Get Help" section on the Access Health CT website. Additionally, the enhanced navigator program now spans six state locations, supported by a mobile enrollment team offering services in English and Spanish.
For assistance, customers can contact Access Health CT Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1-855-805-4325, with support available in over 100 languages. TTY services for the deaf or hearing impaired are offered at 1-855-789-2428, or through a relay operator at the main support number. Online help is also accessible via the "Live Chat" feature at AccessHealthCT.com, available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
