CRC Benefits Strengthens Medicare Support with New Appointment
CRC Benefits has appointed Esther Rhoades as broker sales executive and referral specialist, enhancing the firm's support for broker partners in Medicare and individual health plan referrals. Rhoades will collaborate with brokers and internal teams, assisting clients in selecting the right health insurance coverage. Her expertise covers Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and individual health plans, including those for individuals under 65 and ancillary products.
Rhoades has been a licensed insurance broker and agent since 2018, with eight years as an independent broker before joining CRC Benefits. Her extensive background includes over two decades as a Certified Lead Pharmacy Technician, equipping her with profound knowledge of healthcare access and medication management, as well as addressing clients' challenges in choosing coverage.
"Esther’s experience, patience, and client-first approach make her a valuable addition to CRC Benefits," stated Roni Jernigan, senior director of the individual and senior division. "Her background in Medicare and healthcare services will strengthen our referral program and enhance support for our broker partners."
This strategic appointment aligns with significant growth in the Medicare segment. By 2026, Medicare Advantage enrollment is projected to reach 35 million beneficiaries, representing 55% of the Medicare-eligible population. The increasing demographic of Americans turning 65 daily continues to drive demand, marking it as a robust growth opportunity within this sector.
Additionally, broker compensation is on the rise. In 2026, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a substantial increase in maximum Medicare Advantage broker commissions. This follows an August 2025 court decision that overturned previous compensation alterations imposed by the 2025 Final Rule, driven by litigation led by Americans for Beneficiary Choice.
Rhoades’s emphasis on referral business highlights a shift in the structure of Medicare and individual health distribution at general agencies. CRC Benefits, with over 200 carrier partnerships, provides brokers access to an array of senior healthcare plans, including Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans, Prescription Drug Plans, ACA-compliant individual and family plans, and ancillary products.
In June 2025, CRC Group rebranded its employee benefits division to CRC Benefits, following the acquisition of BenefitMall three years earlier. This rebranding underscores an investment in health distribution infrastructure amid ongoing consolidation in wholesale and benefits distribution. CRC Benefits operates as part of CRC Group, a specialty insurance distributor offering access to a diverse range of wholesale markets.
