MyRepublic Launches Geek Insurance for Collectors and Gamers

MyRepublic, a broadband service provider in Singapore, has introduced Geek Insurance, a niche insurance product developed in partnership with HL Assurance to cover hobbyists, gamers, and collectors.

This insurance targets high-value collectibles and gaming equipment, providing protection against loss, theft, and accidental damage within the insured's home. Coverage encompasses a variety of items such as trading card games (TCGs), figurines, toys, game collections, comic books, limited-edition merchandise, and memorabilia.

Starting at approximately $3.74 monthly, the policy offers coverage up to $15,000. MyRepublic aims to cater to underserved markets by launching specialized insurance solutions, with plans to expand into home insurance in the future. This product reflects a growing trend of insurers developing tailored policies for niche communities, addressing both financial and sentimental value placed on personal collections and electronic devices.
