BMI Expands Digital Transformation with Actisure Implementation in Costa Rica
BMI, an insurance provider headquartered in the United States with substantial operations in Latin America, has successfully deployed the Actisure platform by Cegedim Insurance Solutions in Costa Rica. This move represents a pivotal step in BMI's broader digital transformation strategy. Following a six-month implementation period, the platform establishes a digital framework aimed at supporting BMI's operational expansion across the region.
The Costa Rica deployment is part of a larger initiative targeting BMI's growth throughout Latin America. By leveraging a unified and configurable system, BMI aims to streamline operations, enhance its insurance product offerings, and improve customer experience across its markets. The Actisure platform is expected to eventually support over 275,000 members, process more than one million claims annually, and accommodate 600 users across six countries.
Key features of the implementation include comprehensive policy lifecycle management for health and life insurance products, automated claims processing, integrated workflows, enhanced data reporting, and flexible product configuration. These capabilities are designed to improve operational efficiency and expedite the introduction of new insurance offerings.
BMI's transformation program employs a phased approach, ensuring a controlled transition from legacy systems and smooth business operations. This methodology delivers early business benefits and ongoing improvements between phases, minimizing risks during the rollout. Future deployments in other regions will utilize the components and strategies proven effective in Costa Rica, optimizing the implementation process throughout Latin America.
The successful implementation highlights the robust partnership between BMI and Cegedim Insurance Solutions, with both organizations collaborating to ensure seamless integration. Esteban Chincilla, COO of BMI, noted that the Actisure platform offers a modern and adaptable foundation that optimizes current operations while paving the way for future regional expansion.
With Actisure now operational in Costa Rica, BMI is well-positioned to advance its digital transformation initiatives, adding more value for customers and partners while enhancing internal processes. The ongoing rollout across Latin America will bolster BMI's ability to scale operations efficiently and meet evolving market demands.
James Stokoe, CEO of Cegedim Insurance Solutions, emphasized the effective partnership and outcome-focused approach that facilitated the successful deployment. He noted the platform's role in simplifying operations and enhancing insurance service capabilities, positioning BMI for robust future endeavors.
