Leadership Changes in Surety and Commercial Insurance Sectors
Two insurance intermediaries in the United States have announced leadership appointments to enhance their expertise in surety, commercial, and personal lines of insurance. World Insurance Associates has appointed a new head for its surety division, while Arcstone Insurance has introduced new leadership in its commercial and personal insurance sectors within the Garzella Group network.
Mike Viner has been named the new head of the surety practice at World Insurance Associates LLC. This appointment is part of the company's strategy to develop their contract and commercial bond business. Viner is tasked with driving strategic initiatives to bolster surety growth and collaborating closely with carrier partners to enhance service capabilities. John Newell, CEO of World Insurance, noted Viner’s extensive experience in managing complex surety programs, indicating confidence in his ability to lead the surety practice.
Viner, with over two decades of industry expertise, brings significant experience in underwriting, surety relationship management, and business development for both domestic and international accounts. Previously, he was the senior vice president at Cross Surety, where he was instrumental in developing market strategies. Viner's career has also included leadership roles at Willis and Hilb Rogal & Hobbs.
Arcstone Insurance Advisors, specializing in real estate, business, and personal risk, has announced the appointments of Gus Sampanes and Josh Sloane. Sampanes will serve as vice president of commercial insurance, and Sloane will be the director of personal lines. These changes aim to enhance Arcstone’s expertise and assist in expanding within the Garzella Group, known for its focus on multifamily and commercial real estate risks.
Arcstone’s strategy, amidst evolving market conditions, involves investing in seasoned leadership to expand its capabilities. The addition of Sampanes and Sloane supports the goal of providing specialized solutions. Sampanes, with over 17 years of experience, focuses on commercial property, construction, and manufacturing risks. Sloane, with a background in the captive insurance sector, will concentrate on growing the personal lines business and building carrier relationships.
