Aflac Extends Premium Grace Periods and Filing Deadlines for Policyholders

Aflac is extending premium grace periods and filing deadline extensions for policyholders in California and Georgia impacted by natural disasters. This strategic move aims to provide crucial relief to affected residents facing challenges from adverse weather events.

In California, policyholders in Imperial County affected by the August monsoon receive an extended grace period from August 24, 2025, to April 27, 2026. Similarly, residents impacted by November storms in Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz counties benefit from relief from November 13, 2025, to June 16, 2026. Affected policyholders in Mendocino, Sonoma, and Ventura counties have a grace period from December 16, 2025, to June 16, 2026, while Humboldt County residents affected by the Arcata Fire receive allowances from January 2, 2026, to June 16, 2026.

Georgia policyholders facing winter storms are also granted premium payment extensions and claim filing flexibility from April 18, 2026, to June 17, 2026. Aflac ensures affected policyholders can access replacement policy copies when necessary, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining strong provider-payer relationships under regulatory compliance.

Network Dental and Vision Members in these regions benefit from expanded claim deadlines, reduced prior authorization requirements, and access to out-of-network care. Aflac Benefit Solutions, previously Argus Dental and Vision, actively supports members through a dedicated helpline to address any concerns arising from these disruptions.

Additionally, Aflac has inaugurated a new office in South Portland, Maine, as part of its administration role for the state's newly established Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) program. The office will serve more than 500,000 workers, supporting the initiative that allows eligible employees up to 12 weeks of paid leave for family and medical reasons, with benefits starting May 1.
