NFP Appoints Sean Pender as SVP for Project Risk Advisory

NFP, an Aon-owned entity renowned for its comprehensive property and casualty (P&C) brokerage and consulting services, has announced the appointment of Sean Pender as the Senior Vice President in its Project Risk Advisory, Construction and Infrastructure Group. Based in Somerville, New Jersey, Pender will leverage his expertise to advise construction project owners and contractors on complex risk elements. His role involves orchestrating and implementing tailored insurance strategies throughout the various development stages of construction projects. He reports directly to Andrew Canning, the leader of Project Risk Advisory at NFP.

Canning expressed enthusiasm about Pender’s appointment, emphasizing his extensive experience in managing intricate construction risks throughout the project lifecycle. As construction projects become increasingly large and technically sophisticated, they face diverse risks such as natural disasters, contract-related liabilities, and supply chain disruptions. Canning highlighted Pender's ability to guide clients in transferring, financing, and effectively managing these risks.

Pender brings over 20 years of experience in managing both project-specific and corporate risk programs. Previously, he held leadership roles at CAC Specialty, a division of the CAC Group, managed commercial lines for New York and New Jersey with USI Insurance Services, and directed operations for New York Construction at WTW. His focus on delivering robust and cost-efficient construction solutions makes his addition to NFP invaluable, particularly in navigating increasingly complex risk environments.

Upon joining NFP, Pender highlighted the heightened complexity of project risk management and emphasized the increasing necessity for customized risk management strategies. Aligned with the growing scope and demands of construction projects, Pender recognized NFP's collaborative approach and deep expertise. He believes these attributes will be instrumental in offering precise and effective solutions throughout all phases of construction, supporting their clients' varied needs.

NFP operates across multiple regions, including the U.S., Canada, UK, and Ireland, leveraging the broader Aon network to offer specialized and customized risk management solutions. Their services encompass a wide spectrum from P&C insurance to employee benefits, life insurance, wealth management, and retirement advisory, serving a diverse clientele across various industries.
